Eagle spotting

Eagle spotting in Flatanger

By the end of november 2012 my good friend Lars Solbakken and myself went to Flatanger to meet up with Ole Martin and his majestic eagles. Prior to this weekend i had never seen the White-tailed eagle as they are not common in my part of Norway. The White-tailed eagle is the fourth largest bird of pray in the world with a wingspan of nearly 2.5 meters, it is truly an awesome bird!

The second and the third day we spent in a hide for Golden eagles and while we had our normal arguments of which is the best Nikon or Canon the eagle landed and stayed almost the whole day. We both came to the conclusion that Canon is by far the better choice... Right Lars?
The Golden Eagle can be nearly the same size as the White-tailed but the ones we saw was much smaller. The Golden Eagle can reach a speed of upto 240 kilometers per hour!!! (according to wikipedia) when diving for pray.
